Nine FCCF athletes competed in the CrossFit Rochester Games last Saturday. It was a beautiful day with a great turnout for the event. Athletes could choose to compete in their age division or the Open division and each athlete completed two WODs. The first WOD was a 10 minute AMRAP with 10 ground-to-overheads (increasing weight each round), a trail run, and situps (age division) or chest-to-bar pullups (open). The second WOD was 21-15-9 of rowing for calories and burpees! The competition was fierce and these WODS were a great test of overall athleticism. In the end, Brandon won his age division (21-30), Jason won his age division (31-40), Aaron took third in his age division (31-40), Linda took second in her age division (51+), and Michelle came in second in the Women's Open division. Ben, Andy, Bill and Blake (shown below in the top row of pictures) also had inspiring performances! We also had a great turnout of members there to cheer on our athletes. Great job to everyone across western NY who came out for this fun event!

Many athletes from FCCF competed in the Zoo Fitness Challenge on Thursday night. We are so proud of our athletes who competed and all the members who came out to watch the event.
We had 7 teams of 4 people (2 men and 2 women) compete in the team fitness challenge. First, all teams competed in two 8-minute workouts. One workout was inverted burpees and the other was a sandbag carry paired with kettle bell swings. The top three teams from these challenges had to go against each other in a tug-of-war (2nd vs 3rd place, then the winner went up against the 1st place team). The final showdown matched two FCCF teams against each other in the tug-of-war. Everyone is still talking about the epic battle between these teams (that lasted quite awhile) for the title! Dan, Alyssa, Denise and Josh ended up as the winner with Morgan, Aaron, Adrian and Anne taking second. In the individual obstacle course, Michele took first place and was awarded the Queen of the Jungle and Cameron took first place for the men. Ironically, Cameron arrived in flip flops to watch his fellow FCCFers and then decided to compete, borrowed some shoes, and won! Well done becoming the King of the Jungle Cameron! Casey also placed third in the individual competition. It was a great night for FCCF and we love the Zoo and this event.
Morgan, Jen, and Katie finished the Spartan Race this past weekend! They loved it so much they are planning on doing it again and bringing along more FCCF friends. Kudos!
Declare Your Allegiance!
On June 16th, we will host our first annual FIWBRTS. What is that you say? It's the FCCF Intramural Wodmageddon Bragging Rights Throwdown and Staydown! This event will put our athletes who work out at different times of days a chance to compete against each other. The big showdown is between AM (5-10 am) vs. Nooners vs. PM (4-9 pm). We have about 94 athletes signed up, Ricey is buying shirts, and the smack-talk has begun. Stay tuned to see who takes the title.
