Success Story - Allie Clark!

I began CrossFit in December 2012. My sister, Katie, goes to Flower City CrossFit and absolutely loves it. For over a year, she tried to convince me to join and I always turned her down. When I finally gave in and started CrossFit, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I remember during boot camp that I would walk past everyone doing the WODs and think to myself "yeah right Allie, keep dreaming.” The trainers would tell me "you'll never feel ready, you just need to start," so that's just what I did.
After my first WOD, I instantly fell in love with it. I was completely terrified but everybody cheered me on and welcomed me like I had been a member at Flower City for years. Even after just one month I could feel my body getting stronger and my confidence level was going up. I was excited when new things came up in the WODs and I couldn't wait to get to the gym.
I have tried countless diets and a number of different ways to exercise. Never have I felt more confident than I do now. CrossFit hasn't just changed my body physically, it has also changed me mentally. I am a better person because of it. I have so much more energy and I feel so much happier in my everyday life.
In January this year, I decided to take part in the FCCF Food & Fitness Challenge. In eight weeks, I lost 15 pounds and 5 inches off my waist. I have continued to lose more weight since it ended. I learned so much about health and eating right from that challenge and know that this has become a lifestyle for me rather than a diet.
I want to say thank you to every one of the trainers for all their hard work. Also, I want to thank my best friend, Nicole, for starting CrossFit with me, and who has come just as far as I have. I also want to say thank you to my sister, Katie Clark and friend Michelle Stewart, for being my biggest cheerleaders. Finally, thanks to everyone at FCCF for being so awesome :)
Now, five months in, I am so thankful that I decided to give CrossFit a shot. I am very excited to continue my journey and see how much more I am capable of doing. There are a number of goals I want to accomplish in the gym and I know that if I continue working hard, I can achieve them.
